Social Media blues

Sometimes social media feels like yelling into the void. Nietzsche said,

He who fights with monsters should look to it that he himself does not become a monster. And when you gaze long into an abyss the abyss also gazes into you.

But what about yelling into the abyss? There’s no echo. Nothing but viscous darkness to swallow everything. What is the point of this endless shouting off mountaintops to no one listening? Is it some tragedy of the commons? We’re all here behind our keyboards, shouting off our little mountaintops to each other? No one can hear over the ruckus?

Maybe I’m just extra bummed because my football team lost in amazing fashion and my banana bread turned out craptacular. In any case, I’m going to bed, because
