New Year’s Resolutions

I haven’t been blogging long enough to do a year in review, so I’ll look forward to 2015:

I’d like to average reading a book a week in 2015. I used to read all the time, then got out of the habit in college. After doing so much reading for class (Philosophy BS ftw!) it was hard to get excited to do more reading, then I never really picked it up again to the same extent. I know that’s a terrible thing for a writer to admit to, not reading much, but, there it is. So, I’m going to be reading more and doing reviews here to keep me honest.

I’m going to write another 500k words. I wrote 505,397 words this year. As you can see, I’ve been up to my chin in revision this month and hardly writing at all. But, whatever. I’m not sure how I’m going to break down the 500k. If I’ll just have the goal of 50k for 10 months, or if I’ll write 1370 a day or what. I have some spreadsheet tinkering. I love me a good spreadsheet tinkering.

I’m going to publish six books. Now that I have a better feel for how much work goes into post-production (and LuLo1 is perched on the brink of readiness and Cop Drama is well on its way), I think that’s realistic.
*Just For Kicks January
*A Cop’s Wife March
*LuLo2 May
*The Reluctant Veterinarian July
*LuLo3 September
*Her Widower November

And now the usual things everyone says, but no one really means or does, gonna lose that last 10 pounds, gonna average 70k steps a week, gonna eat better, blah blah blah. 🙂 Oh, I also want to finish paying off my student loans so I can get a new tattoo. I guess that’s not a usual thing that everyone says, but, whatever 😀

This year has had a lot of ups and downs. My huge depression over the second half of the summer was tough to work through, but on the whole, I think it’s been a great year. I’m looking forward to next year and can’t wait to start kicking more ass!
